One of the problems with Harper's Ferry is that it has two different lines converging at one point. This means that there are multiple vantage points from which to watch trains. Though the Main Line, here, is the more active of the two, the Winchester Branch also has its share of trains. In this shot, a westbound empty tank train comes tunnelling out of Maryland and out across the Potomac River. In the background, you can see an eastbound loaded coal train that has just come across the river and entered the tunnel. Though I heard the train coming, I was a smidge too far away to run over to the other side of town to set up to get a shot of it.
