After a promising start, it turned out that the #: 9 would not be pulling the first train of the day, nor any train for the rest of the day. I was later told that the steamer had developed mechanical trouble that would require more than a day's work to repair. After this photo, the unit was backed into the shed and closed up for the rest of the day. Even more disheartening was to hear that it might not be back for the entire season. What was supposed to be a special Easter Train chase had turned into any other diesel excursion on 04.19.25.
