After hopping aboard, you can see how Streetcar #: 23 looks after being refurbished to modern standards. Believe it or not, the streetcar is a New Jersey native and was built in 1906, in Elizabeth, NJ by the Stephenson Car Company. It was initially built to run on the Forest Line in Cleveland, OH and was open-sided. In 1924, the City of Nelson purchased the car and operated it, with two other streetcars, until 1949 when operations were taken over by buses. In the background, you can see the other member of the crew, "Joe", who will be serving as the conductor on this trip.
