After going for an enjoyable ride on the streetcar, I set up to get a photo of it as it passed by on the second round-trip of the day. Joe is now serving as the engineer as Jean switched ends and is now serving as conductor. The trip is approximately 3/4's of a mile and runs along Rosary Lakeside Park in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada. I'm proud to say that the Streetcar was built in Elizabeth, NJ by the Stepheson Car Company in 1906. After its service ended in 1949, it was used as a kennel and for other odd functions before being purchased in 1982 and restored. The current operation began in 1992 after the Canadian Pacific Railway donated the track on which it currently operates. It is an all-volunteer group that maintains and operates the car, and it is an enjoyable experience worth doing just to meet these proud people that keep it alive.
