NJT #: 4101 and 4109 sit side-by-side on this day as they are two of the oldest units in the New Jersey Transit fleet. They were built in October 1968 for the Central Railroad of New Jersey in a last-ditch effort to keep the failing railroad alive. They were originally built as CNJ #: 3672 (DOT unit) and CNJ #: 3677 (CNJ unit). During their careers, both units were at one point painted in the colors that they wear now.
