Tucked away near Kearny Point is this Davenport Centercab. There isn't much information about it but I can guess that it was responsible for providing switching services to the industries in this area, especially the old Western Electric Building behind the unit. As far as I know, I've never seen this unit move from its location so I'm not sure if it was the switcher for the waste transfer facility behind me in this photograph. Typically, the NS crews that bring in train #: 62V perform all switching services. So, most of its work was performed during the 70's and 80's when there were way more rail customers down here. Since this picture was taken on 07.28.18, the centercab unit is no longer at this location.
