This station was built in 1892 for the Erie Railroad. It was one of the busiest stations on the Erie Main Line with many prestigious named trains stopping there. Passenger service ended at this station in 1966, however, this city still has passenger service through MTA and NJ Transit. The trains no longer use this station as a new, "station", was built a few hundred feet west of here. I put station in quotation marks as the new station is nothing more than a glorified bus stop shelter with a platform and has nothing on this beautiful station.
