I found another gem hidden in the garage, the Santa Fe #: 90. It was the first of its class of EMD FP45 locomotives built in December, 1967 and originally numbered #: 100. It, along with sister unit #: 102 served as motive power for a record-breaking inaugural run of the, "Super C", a high-priority 79mph freight train from Chicago to Los Angeles in January, 1968. After this, it was assigned to pulling some of the Santa Fe's most prestigious passenger trains. It served a very interesting career as a passenger train unit before being rebuilt in September, 1981 and being renumbered to its current number #: 90 in 1989. The Santa Fe #: 90 was the last unit of its kind that was still in active service with successor railroad BNSF. It was donated to the Oklahoma Railway Museum in 1999 and serves on static display.
