The ballast train was pulled to the southern end of the Constable Hook Industrial Track. Behind me, the track extends about thirty more feet before it hits the gate of Gordon's Terminal, which is the last customer on the line. At this time, the train extended the entire length of the southern portion of the Constable Hook Industrial Track and was blocking every crossing along the way. I don't know how much further west of the first Hook Road crossing the train extended but I know it did cause a traffic jam on this normally smooth flowing and lightly trafficked road. Conrail dispatched an entire fleet of maintenance of way trucks to guard each crossing.
