In a stroke of pure luck and good timing, just as I was completing my tour of the Ohio State Reformatory (Shawshank Prison), I heard the sound of train horns approaching. I was able to race to the nearest railroad crossing and found this short Ashland Railway local, as it crossed East Longview Avenue, just down the road from the Reformatory. If you are familiar with the movie Shawshank Redemption, there were a few scenes in which train horns are heard in the background during the prison yard scenes with Andy Dufresne. The horns were the horns of the Ashland Railway which passes the prison a short distance north of this location.
