The "Holiday Lights Express" is powered by the W&W #: 8408. It is an SW1 switcher built in 1940 for the B&O Railroad as the #: 208. It was re-numbered to #: 8408 in 1957 and spent its entire career switching Wilsmere Yard and serving the Red Clay Valley Region. It was purchased by the Wilmington and Western in 1982 for freight and passenger service and has since been re-built to serve as the excursion train power.
